This weekend my team and I attended the aforementioned international Tournament. As usual, this event attracted approximately 160 players [for the several categories] from different countries. In the team event there were 28 teams. The Tiburones consisted of the following players:- Nuno Noronha, Antonio Montano, Luis Felipe Mendez, David Gonzalez and myself. We reached the quarter finals beating very good opposition including AS Hennuyer A. The team knocking us out of the competition were Milan who went on to win the tournament.
At individual level, David Gonzalez reached the final Und 15 but due to time restrictions for our leaving flight, he had to concede this. Montano finally passed the group stages but was knocked out in barrages. Noronha reached the last 32. Mendez who played in the Veteran category reached the quarter finals losing out 1-0 in a very close game. I also reached the last 32 but was knocked out by Greece No 1, Niko Beis, in a very close game in which he scored the winning goal in the last 2 minutes. All in all, a good competitive weekend for us all.
